The other day, while chatting with a friend about my not-so-secret obsession — Human Design — he surprised me with his remark, “I just don’t like being put in a box.”
That actually surprised me. Because to me, Human Design is the opposite of that.
We’ve already been put in boxes our whole lives — by parents, teachers, society. Told how to act, what to do, who to be. Go to school, get a “real” job, follow the rules. We’re taught to all be the same.
And the truth is, we’re not the same. Not even close.
Like, did you know about 90% of people aren’t built to initiate things? So all those “just do it!” messages? They actually make most people feel frustrated. Frustration just bleeds out of the majority of the social media posts. For 70% of the population -all (manifesting) generators- frustration is the exact feeling they get when their energy doesn’t flow properly.
We’re expected to fit into a mold — to be the same as everyone else. That pressure comes from parents, school, and society as a whole. And when we don’t fit, we often get labeled — lazy, unmotivated, or diagnosed with something that makes us feel broken, like ADHD or autism.
But deep down, everyone wants the same thing: to feel seen for who they really are. To be able to be ourselves.
Human Design starts from that idea: that you’re completely unique.
It doesn’t box you in — it gives you a map. A kind of user manual, call it a GPS, for how your energy works best. It doesn’t tell you who to be. It shows you how to be you — in a way that actually works. It gives you the tool to experiment with your energy and experience what it feels like when it flows naturally.
My chart says I’m here to share — ideas, stories, and the things I discover in the middle of the night — to inspire others and put my findings out into the world. I’ve been blogging for over ten years, and even when I stopped (thinking no one was reading), I always felt drawn back to it. Now I know that my design basically says, “Hey, this is your thing.” So now I write again — not for likes, but because it feels right. If I can inspire even one person, my job is done.
Another example: I have something in my chart (channel 8-15) that gives me a unique rhythm — my own natural flow to the day. And I do! I wake up early, meditate, go to the gym, have coffee with my husband, journal… and only then am I ready for work. No meetings before 9:30. That’s just how I’m wired, that’s what feels right to me, that’s where I get my energy from.
I used to feel bad about it — like I wasn’t doing enough. Someone once said, “I’m in by 7:45,” with that smug tone that made me feel like I was lazy.
Now? I don’t apologize. I know my rhythm and the importance of it. And thanks to Human Design, I trust it and I don’t even feel the need to explain myself anymore.
So no, Human Design doesn’t trap you. It frees you. It helps you understand that you’re not wrong, or broken — just different, and it teaches you to embrace what you are. And that’s exactly how you’re meant to be
