I have walked passed this church in Azcuénaga y Peña many times, but it is always closed. Today, as by coincidence (not really, as it is sunday and time for mass) it was open. I was surprised to see it is a nice little church, and that it was full of churchgoers. Because they were celebrating mass I couldn’t take pictures, and when I went back a bit later it was, of course, closed again….

The little church is connected to the children’s and the elderly’s home. It is founded in 1872 and it is one of the oldest entities of public good in the country. The church seems to be in a bad state as parts have been falling down, and the community is looking for money to do the necessary restorations.
